MLB: White Sox Pitcher Throws MLB’s First No-Hitter of 2020

Chicago White Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito has thrown the first no-hitter of the 2020 MLB season.

Giolito completely dominated the Pittsburgh Pirates, striking out 13 batters Tuesday night in Chicago.

The only baserunner Giolito allowed came on a fourth-inning walk to Erik Gonzalez.

The White Sox staked him to an early 4-0 lead, and the 26-year-old right-hander cruised to history.

His no-hitter is the first in MLB since Justin Verlander’s no-no against the Toronto Blue Jays last September.

It was the first no-hitter for the White Sox since Philip Humber threw a perfect game in 2012, but the franchise’s 19th overall – second only to the Dodgers for the most in MLB history.

This is the 19th no-hitter in White Sox history and Giolito’s 13 strikeouts are the most in a no-hitter in team history.  Here’s the final pitch.
