The first half started out strong for the Grizzly team by taking an early lead of 5 points. Western Texas fought hard to catch up and though it looked like many times they may close the gap, the Grizzlies fought harder to keep their lead. The half ended with the Westerners trailing by 8 points, 37-29.
The second half was far more eventful with the Westerners coming out strong, to keep the game within 10 points at all times. Grizzly defense kept them at bay until the final minute of the game, the Westerners buckled down to tie the game in the last 45 seconds 70-70 taking the game into overtime.
Overtime was a fight, with both teams not wanting to budge and give away the lead. Fortunately for the Grizzlies the Westerners gave up the ball in turnovers, securing the victory for MSU West Plains Grizzly team, 82-80.
