NASCAR: NC Gov. Says Coke 600 Likely To Run As Scheduled

The governor of North Carolina says NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway will likely go on as scheduled in May.

Gov. Roy Cooper says NASCAR and Charlotte Motor Speedway officials had submitted a plan to state health and government officials that would implement social distancing among participants and have no fans in the speedway grandstands for the race on May 24th.

NASCAR was last at the track on March 13th. Teams were preparing for practice at Atlanta Motor Speedway when the sanctioning body announced the postponement of the race due to the outbreak.
