NFL Confirms Training Camps Will Open July 28, But Players Are Concerned

The NFL confirmed training camps will open July 28th despite several players concerned if the league is ready to deal with the coronavirus outbreak.

NFL Executive VP of Football Operations Troy Vincent sent a memo to all 32 GMs and head coaches telling them that the schedule remains in place… rookies are to report on July 21st, quarterbacks and injured players are to report on July 23rd and all other players are to report on July 28th.

The NFL Players Association still has questions about protocols for testing players for COVID-19 and quarantining those who had contact with players who test positive.

Several players took to social media to voice their concern, including Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson who tweeted “I am concerned. My wife is pregnant. @NFL Training camp is about to start.. And there’s still No Clear Plan on Player Health & Family Safety. We want to play football but we also want to protect our loved ones. #WeWantToPlay”.
