Tennis legend Andy Roddick, football greats Peyton and Eli Manning and notable sportscaster Jim Nantz are among 40 investors behind Sweetens Cove Tennesse Bourbon Whiskey, a 13-year cask aged product, that will make its debut next Tuesday.

Named for the fabled public South Pittsburg nine-hole course insiders covertly share — first-timers on the course take a shot of bourbon ahead of a round — the plan is to release the first 500 bottles of the whiskey, which will retail at roughly $200, to Tennessee residents only.

The top-shelf liquor is expected to be available to retailers in Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville areas in the coming months. And depending on the timeline of pandemic-related restrictions, the hope is that it will hit Tennessee bars and restaurants soon.

For now, the first batch will be available for purchase online at 9 a.m. on May 26, though investors are working to reserve the first 20 bottles of the first barrel to donate to various charities, particularly those centered around the global coronavirus pandemic relief efforts.
