Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady officially announced his retirement yesterday after 22 years.
In an Instagram post he wrote, “This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.”
He also thanked everyone along the way to help him over the years, coaches, teammates, fans, his parents and his family.
Brady has stated his desire to spend more time with his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, and three children despite still playing at the top of his game.
NO Mention Of The Patriots?
Fans noticed that Tom Brady did NOT acknowledge the New England Patriots in his original retirement tweet.
However, Brady did so, a few hours after announcing his retirement.
In response to owner Robert Kraft’s statement on his retirement, Brady replied: “Thank You Patriots Nation [heart emoji’ I’m beyond grateful. Love you all.”
