Jalen Hurts rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another TD, helping Philadelphia pound the Cincinnati Bengals 37-17 for their third consecutive victory.

Hurts was 16-for-20 passing for 236 yards. He also had 10 carries for 37 yards.

Saquon Barkley rushed for 108 yards as Philadelphia (5-2) won for the fourth time in five games overall. The Eagles scored the last 20 points of the afternoon.

DeVonta Smith had six catches for 85 yards, and A.J. Brown had five for 84. The Eagles piled up 397 yards on offense.

Cincinnati (3-5) finished with just 58 yards rushing, continuing a season-long problem. Joe Burrow was 26 for 37 for 234 yards and a touchdown.

Falcons 31, Bucs 26

Kirk Cousins threw for 276 yards and four touchdowns, and the first-place Atlanta Falcons held off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-26 to take control of the NFC South race on Sunday.

Kyle Pitts scored on receptions of 36 and 49 yards and Cousins also tossed TD passes of 30 yards to Darnell Mooney and 6 yards to Bijan Robinson to give the Falcons (5-3) a two-game sweep of the season series with the three-time defending division champion Bucs (4-4).

The Falcons improved to 4-0 within the NFC South and with the head-to-head tiebreaker advantage over second-place Tampa Bay essentially hold a two-game lead in the division standings. The Bucs also lost 36-30 in overtime at Atlanta on Oct. 3, when Cousins threw for a career-high 509 yards with four TDs.

Baker Mayfield threw for 330 yards and three TDs, but also tossed a pair of costly interceptions for Tampa Bay. The Bucs had a chance to possibly win it after driving to the Atlanta 33 in the final minute, however Mayfield’s Hail Mary throw from the 38 was caught by Rakim Jarrett behind the end zone as time expired.

Patriots 25, Jets 22

Rhamondre Stevenson plunged through the line for his second touchdown with 22 seconds left on Sunday and the New England Patriots recovered after first-round draft pick Drake Maye left with a concussion early to beat Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets 25-22.

Starter-turned-backup Jacoby Brissett replaced the quarterback who replaced him and led the Patriots (2-6) on two fourth-quarter scoring drives, snapping a six-game losing streak and sending the Jets (2-6) to their fifth loss in a row.

Stevenson also caught the 2-point conversion pass that gave New England a three-point lead. Rodgers took over at his own 30 with no timeouts and missed one deep pass before connecting with Davante Adams for 16 yards, but far from the sideline.

Instead of being alone in the AFC East cellar, the Patriots are now tied for last with the Jets, four games behind the division-leading Buffalo Bills. Interim Jets coach Jeff Ulbrich, who fell to 0-3 since taking over when Robert Saleh was fired, called the loss “a moment of darkness,” and Rodgers agreed.

Brissett, who started the Patriots’ first five games, completed 15 of 24 passes for 132 yards; Maye was 3 of 6 for 23 yards and ran for 46 yards and a 17-yard touchdown run. He left after an unpenalized helmet-to-helmet hit from Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood.

Lions 52, Titans 14

David Montgomery was the first of five Lions to score in the first half in a 52-14 rout of the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

The Lions were efficient on offense, converting on all five chances in the red zone, and the other two phases were dominant. Detroit’s defense forced four turnovers, and its special teams produced Kalif Raymond’s 90-yard punt return for a touchdown — he finished with 190 yards on five punt returns — and Khalil Dorsey’s 72-yard kickoff return that set up another score.

Detroit became the third team since 1941 to have a punt return of 90 yards or more and a kickoff return of 70 or more in a game.

The NFC North-leading Lions (6-1) have the conference’s best record after winning five straight games, averaging 40-plus points over the last four, and the franchise’s best seven-game record since 1956.

The Lions were fine without big-play receiver Jameson Williams, who served the first of a two-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy.

Jahmyr Gibbs had a 70-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter and finished with a season-high 127 yards rushing. Dorsey’s long return to set up Jared Goff’s 8-yard TD pass to Brock Wright early in the second.

The Titans (1-6) were handed a lopsided loss for the second straight week and have already signaled this is a rebuilding year by trading veteran receiver DeAndre Hopkins and starting linebacker Ernest Jones Jr.

Browns 29, Ravens 24

Jameis Winston threw a 38-yard touchdown pass — his third of the game — to Cedric Tillman with 59 seconds left as Cleveland stunned Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens 29-24 on Sunday to snap a five-game losing streak.

Making his first start in more than two years and replacing injured starter Deshaun Watson, Winston capped an emotional week for the Browns (2-6) by leading them to an upset of their AFC North rival.

The Browns had to withstand a late comeback attempt by Jackson, who drove the Ravens (5-3) to Cleveland’s 24 in the final seconds. Jackson bought time to avoid sacks and threw two incompletions into the end zone, the second to Zay Flowers as time expired.

Winston finished 27 of 41 in his first start since Sept. 25, 2022, for New Orleans. The 30-year-old took over Cleveland’s offense this week after Deshaun Watson went down and provided needed leadership.

Texans 23, Colts 20

Joe Mixon ran for 102 yards with a touchdown in the 23-20 win. Mixon, who is in his first season in Houston after a trade from Cincinnati, became the first player in NFL history to have at least 100 yards rushing and a TD run in four of his first five games with a team.

C.J. Stroud threw for 285 yards and a touchdown to bounce back after he had a career-worst 86 yards passing in a loss to the Packers last week to allow the Texans (6-2) to extend their lead atop the AFC South.

Houston’s defense intercepted Anthony Richardson once and hurried and harassed him all game as the Texans swept their season series with Indianapolis (4-4) for just the second time in franchise history.

Indianapolis got the ball again late, but Richardson was sacked by Hunter again and fumbled on the last play to end the game before he could attempt a desperation pass.

Richardson was 10 of 32 for 175 yards with a touchdown in his second game back after missing almost three full games with an injured right hip. He was sacked five times and hit another eight times.

Cardinals 28, Dolphins 27

Kyler Murray drove the Cardinals into position for a game-winning field goal by Chad Ryland as time expired for the second straight week, and Arizona spoiled Tua Tagovailoa’s return from a concussion, beating the Miami Dolphins 28-27 on Sunday.

Murray led two scoring drives in the fourth quarter to rally the Cardinals from a nine-point deficit. The first ended with a 2-yard touchdown run by James Conner that got Arizona within 27-25. The second was a methodical 13-play, 71-yard march that took the final 5:01 and ended with Ryland’s 34-yard kick. A week earlier, Ryland was good from 32 yards on the last play to beat the Los Angeles Chargers 17-15.

The Cardinals (4-4) won consecutive games for the first time since Oct. 24, 2021, and they had a pair of 100-yard receivers for the first time since A.J. Green and Christian Kirk did it on Sept. 26, 2021. Rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. had 111 yards and a touchdown on six catches, and tight end Trey McBride led the Cardinals with nine catches for 124 yards.

Tagovailoa threw for 234 yards, and the Dolphins (2-5) had their best offensive performance of the season in his first start since he was diagnosed with the third known concussion of his career on Sept. 12 against Buffalo. He was designated to return on Monday after doctors deemed it safe for him to play. He cleared the concussion protocol Friday following an examination by an independent neurological consultant.

Chiefs 27, Raiders 20

Kansas City kept the Las Vegas Raiders off the scoreboard even after facing first-and-goal at the 3-yard line, changing the tenor of the game and allowing the two-time defending champion Chiefs to continue their domination in Las Vegas with a 27-20 victory to remain undefeated.

That sequence occurred late in the third quarter with the Chiefs clinging to a 17-13 lead.

The Chiefs (7-0) extended their winning streak to 13 games, including the playoffs.

Las Vegas (2-6) has lost four consecutive games.

Patrick Mahomes passed for 262 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the fastest quarterback in NFL history to reach 30,000 yards. He accomplished that in his 103rd game; Matthew Stafford had hit that mark at 109.

Mahomes’ top target was Travis Kelce, who had 10 catches for 90 yards, both season highs.

Kelce also had a touchdown catch, his 75th to pass Jason Witten for fifth on the NFL tight end list. Kelce moved within two of breaking Tony Gonzalez’s team record.

Gardner Minshew completed 24 of 30 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns for Las Vegas, but was sacked five times. Jakobi Meyers, who missed the two previous games because of an ankle injury, caught six passes for 52 yards and a TD.

Commanders 18, Bears 15

Jayden Daniels scrambled around for nearly 13 seconds and heaved the ball from the Washington 35-yard line with no time on the clock. The pass tipped off the hands of Zach Ertz short of the goal line and into the waiting arms of Noah Brown, who was standing alone in the end zone, for a 52-yard Hail Mary touchdown that gave the Commanders an improbable 18-15 victory over the Chicago Bears.

Daniels’ heroics came after the Commanders (6-2) fell behind with 25 seconds left on a TD run by Roschon Johnson after a pass-interference penalty put the ball on the 1-yard line. There were just 19 seconds left after a kickoff return to the 24.

Three completions later, Daniels added his best highlight yet to a season that has made him the favorite to be AP Offensive Rookie of the Year and one of the NFL’s most electric players.

In the NFL’s sixth matchup of rookie quarterbacks taken with the top two picks in the draft, Daniels threw for 326 yards and ran for 52. Caleb Williams, taken first by the Bears (4-3), completed four of his first 16 passes and finished 10 of 24 for 131 yards.

Broncos 28, Panthers 14

The Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers, 28-14.

Bo Nix threw three touchdown passes and ran for another and Denver’s defense throttled Bryce Young for much of the afternoon, intercepting him twice and sacking him twice.

In the best game yet of his rookie season, the Broncos quarterback threw for 284 yards. He found Nate Adkins from 3 yards and Adam Trautman from 19 yards in the second quarter as the Broncos (5-3) built a 21-7 halftime lead.

The Broncos wide receivers lost two fumbles, however, both of which led to Carolina touchdowns.

The Panthers (1-7), who listed a whopping 22 players on their injury report and lost two more players Sunday, lost for the fifth consecutive time.

Young was 24 for 37 for 224 yards with two TDs and two interceptions.

Chargers 26, Saints 8

Ladd McConkey had two touchdown catches, including a 60-yard score in the third quarter, and became the first L.A. Chargers rookie receiver in 11 years to have a 100-yard receiving game as Los Angeles defeated the reeling New Orleans Saints 26-8.

McConkey had six receptions for 111 yards.

Justin Herbert had 328 total yards (279 passing, 48 rushing) and two TD passes to help the Chargers (4-3) bounce back from a last-second loss last Monday night at Arizona.

The Saints (2-6) have lost six straight for the first time since 2005, which will ramp up the pressure on coach Dennis Allen, who has an 18-24 record in his third season.

Alvin Kamara, who signed a two-year, $24.5 million contract extension earlier this week, had 122 total yards. Chris Olave had eight receptions for 107 yards.

Jake Haener replaced an ineffective Spencer Rattler in the third quarter and completed nine of 17 passes for 122 yards.

Bills 31, Seahawks 10

Josh Allen threw two touchdown passes and the surging Buffalo Bills pummeled the Seattle Seahawks 31-10 on Sunday.

James Cook rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns for the AFC East-leading Bills (6-2), who were in control throughout and won their third straight. Meanwhile, the Seahawks descended into chaos, with two defensive linemen throwing punches at each other on their own sideline.

Allen finished 24 of 34 for 283 yards. He ran his streak of passes without an interception to 300 before Josh Jobe picked him off in the second quarter. But Seattle (4-4) turned the ball over on downs after that pick, with quarterback Geno Smith stumbling after he took the snap on fourth-and-goal from the 1.

Buffalo outgained Seattle 445 yards to 233 and held the ball for more than 38 minutes.

Smith went 21 of 29 for 212 yards and an interception for the Seahawks, who were largely inept on offense. They rushed for only 32 yards and scored their only touchdown in garbage time.

SUNDAY NIGHT:  49ers 30, Cowboys 24

Brock Purdy threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score to send the San Francisco 49ers into their bye week on a high note with a 30-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

The Niners (4-4) bounced back from a loss last week in a Super Bowl rematch against Kansas City with a strong performance against the Cowboys (3-4) .

Purdy led three straight touchdown drives to turn a 10-6 halftime deficit into a 27-10 lead, but San Francisco had to hold on late after Dak Prescott threw two TD passes to CeeDee Lamb to cut the deficit to six.

Prescott had a chance to complete the comeback but threw four straight incomplete passes after getting the ball back with 3:05 left in the fourth quarter.

Prescott threw two interceptions for a third straight game — the first Cowboys quarterback to do that in 32 years — and struggled to generate any consistent offense until the fourth quarter.

Prescott finished 25 for 38 for 243 yards. Lamb caught 13 passes for 146 yards.
