San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa said Wednesday that any possible fine he would receive for his Donald Trump-supporting stunt was “well worth it.”
Bosa spoke to media members at his locker one day after Trump won the presidential election. Bosa acknowledged he knew he could be fined for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat during the “Sunday Night Football” postgame show after the 49ers’ Oct. 27 game against the Cowboys, but he said if he were hit with a fine, it would be “well worth it.”
When Bosa was asked after the game about why he chose to wear the MAGA hat, he said he did so because “it’s an important time” but didn’t elaborate beyond that. He also declined to answer a question Wednesday about why he decided to make a political statement with his hat.
He added, “I don’t think my position on speaking about it is going to change. Clearly, the nation spoke, and we got what we got.”
