COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 25 University of Missouri softball (28-17, 8-9 SEC) takes on Saint Louis (20-21, 12-5 A-10) in a midweek contest on Wednesday, April 27 at 4 p.m. CT. Nate Gatter and Katherine Kadlec will have the call on SEC Network + while Andy Humphrey will call the game for KTGR and the Tiger Radio Network.
Mizzou returns to action after sweeping then-No. 9/12 Kentucky. The Tigers margin of victory in the series was their largest since 2015.
SERIES HISTORY
Mizzou leads the all-time series 64-3 over the Billikens. The Tigers took last year’s contest in St. Louis by a score of 10-4.
WERT ALERT
Kimberly Wert put together a dominant weekend against Kentucky. She received SEC Player of the Week honors after hitting four home runs and driving in 13 runs while batting .857 (6-for-7) on the weekend. Wert crushed two grand slams in the series, leading the Tigers to a three-game sweep.
BROOKE’S BRILLIANCE
Brooke Wilmes had a standout weekend in her own right. The graduate student batted .727 with two doubles, two homers and five RBI. She had a clutch solo home run in the sixth inning of game two to tie it up.
WEB(ER) GEM
Junior pitcher Jordan Weber became the first Tiger pitcher to go 3-0 in an SEC series since Chelsea Thomas in 2013. Weber also tossed the first SEC shutout by a Mizzou pitcher in an SEC contest since 2018 in the first game of the weekend. She went 12 innings with seven strikeouts while allowing only one run.
