The St. Louis Cardinals managed seven hits during a 2-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park yesterday. Nolan Gorman hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth to tie the game at one, but John King surrendered a go-ahead single in the bottom of the eighth and was charged with his second loss in relief.
Andre Pallante allowed just three hits and two walks in six innings while allowing a run.
The Cardinals have lost six of their last ten games. The Cardinals are in second place in the NL Central at 52-and-48, but they have just a one-game lead over the Pirates. Lance Lynn takes the mound for St. Louis, while rookie phenom Paul Skenes starts for Pittsburgh. First pitch is at 5:40PM.
