WHAT TO WATCH

What will Jordan Kyrou do on Thursday?

Through seven games this season, Kyrou leads the Blues in points (7) with three goals and four assists.

On Tuesday, Kyrou chipped a puck past Alex Pietrangelo in the Blues’ zone and beat the former Blues’ captain to a loose puck before scoring on Robin Lehner. The goal gave the Blues a 4-2 lead.

“He outbattled a guy that’s very strong, for sure, and a very good player,” Blues Head Coach Craig Berube said. “It’s a puck battle there, and he looks really strong to me out there. His skating is really good right now, he’s got a heavier stick. Some of the things we’ve talked to him about he’s really taken to heart, and he’s out there doing them now.”

INJURY UPDATE

The Blues will be without Tyler Bozak after he took a high hit near center ice from Golden Knights captain Mark Stone in the first game of the series. In practice Wednesday, Blues Head Coach Craig Berube had Sammy Blais in Bozak’s spot on the third line.

THE SERIES SO FAR

Jan. 26: Blues 5, Golden Knights 4 (SO)
A back-and-forth game featured an excessive amount of penalties by both teams, but the Blues emerged with a 5-4 win thanks to shootout goals from David Perron and Brayden Schenn. Perron also scored twice in regulation, and Jordan Kyrou turned heads with a dazzling goal that left former Blue Alex Pietrangelo visibly frustrated. Max Pacioretty netted a hat trick for Vegas, but Jordan Binnington made 42 saves to help the Blues to a win in the first game of the series.

BLUE NOTES

The Blues have recorded at least one point in all 10 of their meetings against the Vegas Golden Knights (6-0-4)… Mike Hoffman is expected to play in his 500th career NHL game. Thursday would be Hoffman’s seventh game as a Blue… Justin Faulk recorded his 300th career penalty minute after a second-period fight with Stone on Tuesday… Robert Bortuzzo, who is on injured reserve, skated for the first time Wednesday after being injured on Jan. 15… The Blues are 4-0 in the first game of a series but 0-2-1 in the second game.
