The regular high school football season concluded Friday night, and now the District Football Brackets have been set. 2 area teams have received bye’s with West Plains in Class 4 District 8, and The Mountain View Liberty Eagles in Class 2 District 3 …. West Plains will play in the District Semi Final on November 4th against the winner of Logan-Rogersville vs Monett. Liberty will play the winner of Strafford vs Ava.

The Class 1 District 7 Volleyball Tournament continued Saturday afternoon, with the number 1 seed Winona Wildcats defeating Bakersfield in 3 set straights, following that match up it was the 2 seed and host Eminence vs 3rd seed Summersville, in a match that went to 4 sets the Summerville Wildcats would win 3 sets to 1, setting up the championship match for tonight at 6pm. Tune in on 96.9 The Fox to listen as The Winona Wildcats take on the Summersville Wildcats.
Also, in area competition Class 2 District 9 continued its District Tournament with Mountain View Birch Tree defeating Cabool, and Houston defeating Thayer, tonight Mountain View Birch Tree will face Houston at 6pm in Cabool.
The Missouri State University West Plains were victories in Hillsboro on Saturday winning in three straight sets 25-11, 25-15, 25-21. Tonight, the Grizzlies will host St. Louis Community College at 6:30 for Sophomore night, before playing for the Region 16 Championship at The West Plains Civic Center.
