Royals 14, Cardinals 6

The Royals beat up on the Cardinals, 14-6. Seven of those runs in the first two innings. KC scored six in the second, thanks in part to four doubles. Bobby Witt Jr, Jac Caglianone and Salvy Perez all homered. The Royals have hit seven homers in the last two games. Perez’s solo home run in the sixth inning was his 137th at The K, breaking a tie with George Brett for the most hit in the 54-year history of this ballpark. But bad news for the Royals, Witt went down with a knee injury sliding in the hole to make a play. He left the game. They called it right knee discomfort. Witt is hitting .294. JJ Weatherholt and Masyn Winn each with three hits for the Cardinals.
