The Royals padded their lead in the AL Wild Card race following a 5-3 win over the Angel from Kauffman Stadium. Paul DeJong crushed a two-run homer while Salvador Perez drove in three runs. Seth Lugo earned the win after giving up two runs over seven innings as KC has won five straight to build a four-and-a-half game lead in the Wild Card standings over the Red Sox at 70-and-55. KC also tied Minnesota for second in the Central Division. They host the Angels again tonight. Cole Ragans is scheduled to start opposite Tyler Anderson.
