ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced that defenseman Marco Scandella will undergo surgery on his right hip joint on Tuesday.
Scandella injured the hip in late August while training for the upcoming season. He is set to be re-evaluated in six months.
Scandella, 32, joined the Blues via trade from the Montreal Canadiens on Feb. 18, 2020. In three seasons with the team, the 6-foot-3, 211-pound defenseman has totaled 24 points (six goals, 18 assists) and 46 penalty minutes in 130 regular-season games. He has also appeared in 17 postseason games as a Blue.
Overall, the Montreal, Quebec native has dressed in 699 regular-season games and collected 160 points (48 goals, 112 assists) and 273 penalty minutes across his 12-year NHL career.
