Soccer Slips Up on the Road at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Mizzou Soccer (5-9, 1-6 SEC) fell at No. 6 Arkansas (12-2, 7-0 SEC) by a score of 6-1.

The Arkansas attack was able to pressure the Tiger defense for most of the evening. After keeping the Razorbacks off the board for the first 20 minutes, McKeon was able to put one in the back of the net.

The Razorbacks were then able to add a pair of goals late in the first half to extend the lead with McKeon scoring one in the 44th minute, and then Podojil added one with only two seconds to go in the first period.

The Razorbacks added another quickly in the second half after just five minutes.

Mizzou was able to generate a strong counterattack with Julissa Cisneros finding Jenna McCormick, who played to Cassidy Nurnberger for her second goal of the season. The Tigers cut the lead to 4-1.

Arkansas was able to add a pair of late goals from Duininck and Goins in the last 10 minutes to finish the match.

NOTES

The Tigers have not won in Fayetteville since 1996.

Missouri falls to 3-7 in the series against the Razorbacks.

Arkansas fired 28 shots in the match, a season high for a Mizzou opponent.
