Branson High School has hired a new men’s head basketball coach for the 2022-2023 school year. Pete McBride will replace Mike Linehan who resigned the position in March. McBride has served in the Eminence School District for 26 years as a teacher, coach, and administrator. His basketball coaching career at Eminence secured 399 career wins and two state championships in 2013 and 2018. McBride was named the Missouri Basketball Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2018 and was named the National Federation Midwest Coach of the Year in 2018. He won ten district championships, eight conference titles, and was named Coach of the Year in his conference eight times. In 2020, McBride was inducted into the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Thomas F. Benyo Masters Memorial 7th annual golf tournament will be held April 30th in Willow Springs 11am start 2 person 18 hole scramble 80 dollars per team sign up sheet at the golf course or call 417-469-1214.

 

The Willow Springs Men’s Golf League will start May 5th at 530pm, the league will continue to be a two-person 9 hole scramble, there will be a signup sheet inside the pro-shop on the bulletin board.  Members and nonmembers are welcome to play in the Thursday night men’s league at Willow Springs.

In women’s basketball, the South Carolina Gamecocks won their second national championship in five years Sunday after defeating the Connecticut Huskies 64-49.

North Carolina edged rival Duke 81-77 in a Final Four game Saturday in New Orleans to advance to tonight’s men’s basketball national final, in which they’ll meet top-seeded Kansas.
