The Supreme Court ruled against the NCAA in a case involving the compensation of student athletes. the ruling blasts a hole in the NCAA’s longstanding rule forbidding any kind of pay to athletes.

 

Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark was arrested in Los Angeles after police saw a submachine gun in his car. Clark was pulled over for a vehicle violation south of downtown at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday. Officers noticed a bag with an Uzi sticking out in plain sight in the car. Clark was then arrested on suspicion of having a concealed firearm in a vehicle. He was booked into Los Angeles County jail and released Monday afternoon on $35,000 bond.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, “We are aware of the matter, which will be reviewed under the NFL’s personal conduct policy,.”

 

STL Cardinals played the Tigers last night and lost 8-2. With more here is John Rooney with your redbird recap.

The KC Royals took on the New York Yankees last night and won 6-5. The Royals and Yankees play again at 605 tonight.

 

Connor Lair and Titus Seley were honored last night at the mosports hall of fame for their outstanding play on the field last fall. Both players displayed great toughness as they battled through the aches and pains that come through the game of football and they excelled on the field. Titus was recognized for his play at running back as he put together a 2000+ yard season and more than 30 touchdowns for the West Plains Zizzers. His efforts resulted in a 1st team all-state honor at RB for Titus Seley.

Connor Lair had a phenomenal year for the Zizzers as well. Connor led the team in tackles and forced turnovers. He scored the most points defensively on the team and collected a 1st team all-state honor at Linebacker. West Plains Zizzer girl’s cross-country team was honored as well as Jordan and Brayden Kantola for Cross Country athlete of the year as well as Riley Simpson Cross Country and Track athlete of the year.
