Missouri State Bears newcomer Isaac Haney was recognized Tuesday as a member of the MVC All-Freshman Team. In 29 appearances and just 15.4 minutes per game, Haney has racked up 112 points, 72 rebounds, 23 assists and 20 steals in his rookie campaign. Coach Dana Ford‘s Bears (22-9) enter this weekend’s State Farm MVC Tournament at Enterprise Center in St. Louis as the No. 2 seed. MoState will play the winner of the game between Valparaiso and Evansville on Friday at 6 p.m. A win would put the Bears in the semifinals for a third straight season with a date against Southern Illinois or Drake on Saturday at 5 p.m. The championship game is slated for Sunday at 1 p.m.

Dora Lady Falcons play Crocker at Lebanon in class 2 sectionals at 6pm. South Pemiscot plays Alton Comets in boys Class 2 Sectionals at Three Rivers in Popular Bluff at 745. Eugene vs Norwood Pirates in boys Class 2 State Sectionals in Lebanon at 745. Steelville vs Thayer Bobcats in boys Class 3 State Sectionals in Rolla at 745.

Behind a career night from Javon Pickett, the University of Missouri men’s basketball team fought back from a halftime deficit to play into the final seconds at South Carolina Tuesday, but ultimately fell, 73-69, to the Gamecocks. Missouri has its final game of the regular season, Saturday, March 5 as the Tigers host Georgia. The game is slated for a 2:30 on Q94.

Tonight, the STL Blues are in New York to take on the Rangers pregame at 6 puck drop at 630 all on Q94.

The ninth-ranked Drury Lady Panthers kicked off their postseason in exactly the same way they wrapped up the regular season…playing shutdown defense. The Lady Panthers yielded an opening tip basket to William Jewell, then went on a 26-0 scoring binge and never looked back, downing the Cardinals 97-51 in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament at the O’Reilly Family Event Center. Lady Panthers advance to the quarterfinal round of the GLVC Tournament and will face Rockhurst at 2:30 pm Thursday at the First Community Arena in Edwardsville, Illinois.
