The Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Basketball team will enter the upcoming NJCAA Region 16 Championship Basketball Tournament as the third seed after dropping their final two games of the regular season. The Grizzlies, 13-9 over all and 5-6 in region play, will face second seeded Moberly Area Community College (15-7, 7-5) at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the region semifinals at Mineral Area College (MAC) in Park Hills Game will be broadcast on 102.5 fm KDY. The championship game is set for 7 p.m. Saturday in Park Hills.

 

For the 17th time in 28 seasons, the Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Volleyball team is the NJCAA Region 16 Champion. The Grizzlies, 15-5, defeated the Mineral Area College (MAC) Cardinals 3-1 in the NJCAA Region 16 Championship Saturday afternoon at Jefferson College in Hillsboro. The final scores were 25-27, 25-17, 25-23, 27-25. The Grizzlies will now look to the NJCAA Midwest District B playoffs Friday on the campus of Indian Hills Community College in Iowa. They will face Wabash Valley Community College from Illinois, at 11 a.m. in the first game of the day. The winner will face the winner of the 1 p.m. playoff game between Indian Hills and Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois, in the Midwest District B championship game at 5 p.m. The winner of the championship game will earn an automatic bid to the NJCAA Division I Women’s National Volleyball Championship Tournament April 15-17 in West Plains.

 

 

After three straight victories over ranked opponents, Missouri State has finally cracked the FCS Top 25 football poll, released Monday. The Bears, now 4-1 on the spring, check in at No. 19 this week. It marks the first time since Oct. 2018 (24th) that Missouri State has been ranked, and also represents the team’s highest ranking since Nov. 4, 1996 (14th). Missouri State is currently locked in a four-way tie for first place in the league standings with North Dakota, North Dakota State and South Dakota State – all at 4-1. The Missouri Valley Football Conference has canceled the North Dakota-Missouri State football game (Saturday, April 3) at Grand Forks, N.D., due to positive COVID-19 test results.

 

Mayor’s cup 3 man 18 hole scramble at North Terra Golf course in West Plains will be held Saturday April 10th with a tee time of 9am $150 per team limited to only 36 teams.
