St. Louis Blues captain Ryan O’Reilly has been nominated for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy. The award is presented annually to an NHL player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to the community. Despite having strict COVID-19 protocols that prevent him from being out in the community, O’Reilly still found a variety of ways to give back.

Houston Parks and Recreation will be holding free Golf and Tennis lessons and hold a weeklong free golf camp for youth ages 5 and older. Golf lessons will be held on Tuesdays starting June 1st at the Houston Municipal Golf Course. Tennis lessons will be held on Thursday’s starting June 3rd at the Tennis Courts in Westside Park (by the pool). The golf camp will be held August 9-13th at HMGC. If we have a large enrollment, we may break lessons down into age brackets. Equipment will be available at no cost. If you are interested in having your child participate, please contact Larry Benoist at 417-260-4910. Please notify Larry prior to June 1st to ensure we have equipment available and to determine times for the different age groups if needed.

 

The West Plains Sunrise Rotary Club’s 19th Annual Tom Smith Spring Golf Classic, will be held on Saturday, May 29th, 2021 at the North Terra Golf Course in West Plains with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. The tournament will be a three-person scramble. High school baseball state playoff’s class one Norwood plays Oran today and in class 2 Gainsville plays Marionville both games are quarter final contests.
