(West Plains) Four area schools will begin play in the MSHSAA state volleyball championships. The sectional round of competition will feature the following match-ups:

Summersville Wildcats (16-15-3) vs. Chadwick Cardinals (13-16-2) 6:30
Class 2
Liberty Eagles (18-11-3) vs. Fair Grove Eagles (31-1-2) 6:30
Stover Bulldogs (33-2) vs. Licking Wildcats (31-5-1) 7:00
Class 3
Mountain Grove (25-4-2) vs. Mount Vernon (20-11-4) 6:30
Meanwhile, Houston High School will be on the sidelines after winning a district title at Dixon Monday over Licking. The school was informed by the Missouri State High School Activities Association Wednesday morning their district title was forfeited due to 3 players participating in a charity volleyball event Saturday October 21. The violation was characterized as ‘Organized Non-School Competition-Same Season/Same Sport’.
Houston Schools immediately appealed the decision but the appeal was denied.
