TEMPE, Ariz. – The Missouri State women’s tennis program was recognized Monday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for its academic performance during the 2019-2020 academic year.

The Bears earned the ITA All-Academic Team award with a 3.6 team cumulative grade point average for the year, surpassing the 3.20 GPA threshold needed to qualify.

Additionally, six bears owned GPAs of 3.50 or higher to achieve the ITA Scholar-Athlete status, including Ellie Burger, Alye Darter, Claire Martin, Alyson Piskulic, Mara Presot and Taylor Shaw. Each of those players will return to MSU this season.

“I’m really proud of our effort in the classroom this last semester. Times were anything but normal and the team did a great job staying focused on their classes and excelling,” head coach Mallory Weber said.
