TENNIS: Serena Williams Withdraws From The US Open Due To Torn Hamstring

Serena Williams has withdrawn from the US Open due to a torn hamstring.  

The tennis star released a statement on social media saying, “After careful consideration and following the advice of my doctors and medical team, I have decided to withdraw from the US Open to allow my body to heal completely from a torn hamstring.”

The move comes after she had to retire from Wimbledon after her first-round match in June as a result of her injury. She also opted out of the Olympics in Tokyo due to the injury.
