Liberty took on the Alton Comets tonight and beat them in what ended up to be a close game in the end. After the first quarter Alton was up 1, but Drew Ripko was keeping the Eagles in the game with 12 points on his own in the first quarter. 16-15 after the first. In the second quarter, Liberty came out and decided they wanted the lead and didn’t want a question about it, leading the Comets 35-22 ending the half. With just 3:28 left in the 3rd quarter Liberty called a time out after only scoring a single point, still leading 36-32. I would love to hear what coach James Lee had to say because Liberty came out a different team leading 48-37 by the end of the quarter. With 4:30 left in the 4th, Liberty was still holding on to a strong lead 42-32. Alton closed in on the Eagles, but Liberty gets the win after a great effort by the Comets, 63-60. Gary Lee has more:
