The West Plains Zizzers took on the Logan Rogersville Wildcats on Friday, November 8, 2024, for their first district game after winning against Marshfiled.
Wildcats have the ball first, hoping to have a different ending to this game against the Zizzers than what they ended with last time. Zizzers get the ball quickly from the grip before the fumble and miss the ball, giving it back to the Wildcats. Both teams are wanting to make it to the next stage of districts. The first quarter passes with both teams coming close but neither team making a touchdown, until we hit 1 minute left of the first quarter. The Zizzers take the early lead with a score of 7 to 0. With one second left of the first quarter, the Zizzers grab one more touchdown, ending it with 13 to 0.
The second quarter starts with the Wildcats making a touchdown and bringing themselves back into the ballgame with a score of 13 to 7. The Zizzers immediately follow that up with a touchdown of their own, bringing the lead higher with a score of 20 to 7. The second quarter is full of energy as the Wildcats make another touchdown and double their scoring points from last time the Zizzers played them. The first half ends with Zizzers in the lead with a score of 20 to 13.
The third quarter starts slow, with both teams fighting over the ball without making any points. When 4 minutes are left on the clock for the third quarter, the Zizzers score another touchdown, widening their lead even more. The quarter ends with the Wildcats making a move and a touchdown, ending the quarter with 27 to 19.
The last quarter starts with a strong Zizzer play. They make a touchdown, gaining back their lead and making a score of 34 to 19. The Wildcats follow that with a 92-yard kick-off return, scoring 6 points and then another 2 points, closing the Zizzer lead again. Neither team makes any more touchdowns, ending the game with a score of 34 to 27.
The West Plains Zizzers beat the Wildcats and will be playing again next Friday, November 15, 2024. the gamne will be aired on KKDY 102.5.
