The Zizzers and Lady Zizzers traveled to Searcy AR to compete in the Bison Invitational hosted by Harding University this past Saturday. It was a good day to be a Zizzer. The Zizzers and Lady Zizzers had an individual champion in both varsity and jv races and the Undefeated Lady Zizzers claimed the team Championship again this week. Individual winners included Riley Simpson in the varsity boys race followed very closely by teammate Justin Fleetwood. Brayden Kantola crossed the finish line first in the girls varsity race followed just a few steps behind by sister Jordan. Bryce Crites ran in his second race since being out for an injury and earned his stripes as he won the Jv race in sub 18:00. Natalie Stewart ran a very strong race all alone but ran a season best as she won the JV girls race.
The Lady Zizzers will go into their sixth meet of The season this weekend at Hermitage with an undefeated record. The girls are tough as a team and that’s what’s making things tick this season. They are very unselfish, they switch roles often and as needed, and they are a true team. We just need to work on closing some gaps and making our overall team gap about a minute. If everyone does just a little more we will reach that goal.
The boys varsity are working on getting five guys together on the same day so we can score as a team. We ran well this week but we were a man short of scoring. We are moving in the right direction as we are approaching the half way point in the season. Riley and Justin are very consistent up front and now drew and Brodie are helping each other move through the middle pack
