COLUMBIA, Mo. – On the heels of University of Missouri football’s come-from-behind win on Senior Day, three student-athletes – QB Brady Cook, OL Xavier Delgado and K Harrison Mevis – earned Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday.
The No. 9 Tigers (9-2, 5-2 SEC) defeated Florida 33-31 on a 30-yard field goal from Mevis with five seconds left on the clock. Cook was the co-offensive player of the week, Delgado the offensive lineman of the week and Mevis the special teams player of the week.
Offense: QB Brady Cook
- Finished the night 20-of-34 for 331 yards and two TDs – one passing and one rushing – as Mizzou came from behind to knock off Florida 33-31 and pick up win No. 9 for the first time since 2014.
- The junior from St. Louis also engineered a 12-play, 62-yard drive in 90 seconds to set up Harrison Mevis’ 30-yard game winner with five seconds left.
- He had a 77-yard pitch and catch to WR Theo Wease Jr. for the Tigers’ longest play from scrimmage and longest scoring play of the season.
- Cook scampered for a 1-yard TD, his seventh score on the ground this season.
- He became the fifth Mizzou signal caller to throw for 3,000 or more yards in a season (3,077) and surpassed 6,000 career yards passing and 7,000 yards of career total offense. Cook needs 94 rushing yards to become the third Mizzou QB to amass 6,000+ yards passing and 1,000+ yards rushing in a career.
ST: K Harrison Mevis
- Kicked four field goals on the night, from 22, 38, 24 and the 30-yard game winner with five seconds remaining.
- The game winner was his second of the season (K-State, 61-yarder at the gun).
- He surpassed Georgia’s Rodrigo Blankenship and Leigh Tiffin for third on the SEC all-time career field goals list (84).
- Mevis also tacked on a perfect 3-for-3 effort on PAT attempts. His 15-point outing hiked his career total to 401, becoming the eighth kicker in SEC history to surpass the 400-point mark.
- Mizzou’s four field goals were the most since Mevis converted four kicks against Georgia (Oct. 1, 2022).
- Averaged 64.0 yards per kickoff with touchbacks on six of eight kicks.
OL: Xavier Delgado
- Helped block for Cody Schrader’s 148 yards rushing and an offense which averaged 5.5 yards per rush and 7.6 yards per play.
- Mizzou topped the 500-yard mark for total offense for the fifth time this season, including four such performances during SEC play.
- Mizzou’s highest graded offensive lineman.
The No. 9 Tigers close out the regular season with the annual Battle Line Rivalry on Friday, Nov. 24, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Game time at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium will be 3:00 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on CBS and air on Tiger Radio Network.
