Tigers on Tour: Mizzou Summer Baseball Central

COLUMBIA, Mo. – As we prepare to enter the summer season, numerous Missouri baseball student-athletes are already gearing up for the 2025 season by competing in summer collegiate leagues throughout the country. The Tigers currently have six returning members of their 2024 squad, as well as a pair of incoming signees, on various rosters this summer.

More additions are expected throughout the summer as Mizzou continues to expand its roster in preparation for the 2025 season.

Tuesday, July 9
Appalachian League:
INF Trey Lawrence has turned in a solid summer with Tri-State, logging a .340 on-base percentage to go along with 8 RBIs and 3 SBs for the Coal CatsRHP Josh McDevitt leads Tri-State with a 1.89 ERA and .171 batting average against, while posting 20 K’s over 19.0 innings in his 5 starts.

Coastal Plain League: INF/OF Cameron Benson has been one of Boone’s top performers of the summer, earning a Coastal Plain League All-Star nod after logging a slash line of .313/.433/.505 and a team-leading 31 hits through his first 25 games with the Bigfoots.

 

 

MINK League: INF Tyler Macon has swiped 30 bags for Clarinda this summer, in addition to posting a .306 batting mark and .440 on-base percentage for the A’s…Macon faced fellow Tiger LHP Wil Libbert in his debut with Jefferson City on Saturday (July 6); the Mizzou redshirt freshman made his first mound appearance since undergoing surgery last spring, finishing with a strikeout in his 1.0 inning vs. Clarinda.

 

 

MLB Draft League: RHP Victor Quinn continues to rack up impressive strikeout totals in the MLB Draft League, tallying a 1-2 record, 1 save and 34 punchouts over just 17.0 innings for West Virginia. Quinn’s strikeout total for the summer is tied for third among all Draft League hurlers to date.

Northwoods League: C Mateo Serna concluded his summer tour in Minot with a .308 batting average (24-for-78) with 2 homers and 13 RBIs. Serna ended his stint with hits in each of his last 4 games for the Hot Tots.


Wednesday, June 26
Appalachian League:
INF Trey Lawrence returned to the Tri-State lineup with a 2-for-3, 3-RBI performance to help the Coal Cats edge Burlington, 8-5, on Sunday (June 23); Lawrence participated in the MLB Draft Combine, June 18-23 at Chase Field in PhoenixRHP Josh McDevitt continues to impress for Tri-State; he has logged a 1.80 ERA and 9 K’s over 10.0 innings, spanning three appearances to date.

MLB Draft League: RHP Victor Quinn has been dominant in the MLB Draft League, bringing a 1-0 record with 1 save, as well as a 2.53 ERA and 23 strikeouts, over 8 relief appearances into Wednesday’s action for West Virginia.


Tuesday, June 18
Appalachian League:
RHP Kaden Jacobi struck out three hitters in 2.0 innings of Tri-State’s 11-3 win over Bluefield on Saturday; in his three appearances to date for the Coal Cats, Jacobi has recorded 7 K’s and allowed 3 runs over 7.1 IP…fellow RHP Josh McDevitt has limited the opposition to a .091 batting mark over his first two starts for the Cats.

Coastal Plain League: INF/OF Cameron Benson turned in a 3-for-3 performance for Boone Friday (June 14), doubling twice and homering to drive in 3 runs against Martinsville; Benson has been red-hot at the plate, with hits in five straight games entering play Tuesday and a .321 average with 2 home runs and 13 RBIs in his 15 contests with the Bigfoots.

 

 

MINK League: INF Tyler Macon logged a pair of two-hit games for Clarinda over the last week, including a 2-for-2 effort Saturday; Macon has logged 9 steals while hitting .282 over his first 13 games with the A’s.

MLB Draft League: RHP Victor Quinn ran his 2024 summer season strikeout total to 19 K’s; Quinn has allowed just 2 hits over his 7 2/3 innings spanning 5 appearances with West Virginia.

Northwoods League: C Mateo Serna enters play Tuesday as Minot’s second-leading hitter (.321) through his first 11 games in the Northwoods; Serna belted his first homer of the summer Sunday (June 16) following his second three-hit performance for the Hot Tots Saturday (June 15).

 


Tuesday, June 11
Appalachian League:
RHP Josh McDevitt worked 3.0 hitless innings in Tri-State’s 11-0 victory over Kingsport on Saturday (June 8), striking out three and allowing a pair of walks…Incoming freshman INF Trey Lawrence has also logged three starts on the Tri-State infield, collecting three hits for the Coal Cats.

 

 

Coastal Plain League: INF/OF Cameron Benson is off to a strong start for Boone with a .262 average, 8 RBIs and 4 SBs through 11 games; the junior transfer has logged hits in five of his last six contests, highlighted by a 3-for-4 night on June 6.

MINK League: INF Tyler Macon is hitting .375 with 6 steals and 7 runs scored through his first six contests with Clarinda.

MLB Draft League: RHP Victor Quinn notched a mound victory for West Virginia June 5 vs. Frederick; the junior turned in an immaculate inning against State College on Sunday and has fanned 12 batters over 4.2 innings for the campaign, allowing just a pair of hits in three total appearances.

 

 

Northwoods League: It’s fitting that our first TOT Report of the summer is headlined by an actual Tot…a Minot Hot Tot, to be exact–C Mateo Serna is making noise in the Northwoods, posting a .450 batting average through his first six games with Minot; the freshman turned in his best performance Monday with a 3-for-3, 3-RBI effort in which he also drew three walks to reach safely in all six of his plate appearances vs. Bismarck.
