The 5-year-old girl who has been in a coma since a crash with Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid, is awake.
The crash happened in the days leading up to the Super Bowl. Britt Reid struck her family’s vehicle on a highway on-ramp.

No charges have been filed, but the authorities had been investigating possible impairment. Police say Britt Reid admitted to having “two or three drinks” before the crash.
Reid, who’s been coaching with his father in Kansas City for eight years, was initially placed on administrative leave. His contract expired days later with the end of the NFL season.
