KANSAS CITY, Mo. – In the sixth edition of the coaches Top 25 poll released on Monday, Valor Football continued their streak of weeks in the top 25, moving up to #13 overall.
Evangel opened the season receiving votes, but after winning three consecutive games, moved to 25th in the nation. After recording a 59-42 victory over Saint Mary, Evangel moved up to 20th. A 27-21 victory over Ottawa pushed the Valor forward to 18th in the nation as Evangel remained at #18 after a 44-6 victory over Avila. After an Evangel bye week featured several top 20 teams losing, the Valor moved up to #15 in the national poll. Last week, Evangel defeated Bethany, 34-11, helping the Valor move up to #13
In the KCAC, Southwestern fell to Friends, as they fell to #14 in the most recent poll. Friends entered the top 25 on with their win, coming in at #25.
Valor Football takes on the #25 Friends Falcons in a homecoming matchup this Saturday, October 21st at Eagle Stadium beginning at 3:00 p.m.
