COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball (3-11) (0-1 SEC) returns to Hearnes for the SEC home opener in a two-game series against South Carolina (9-3) (1-1 SEC) on Thursday, Sept. 30, and Friday, Oct. 1. The first serve is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on Thursday and 7 p.m. CT on Friday.
Thursday match will air on SEC Network+ while Friday bout will stream on SEC Network.
SERIES SNAPSHOT
- Mizzou leads South Carolina 9-4 in the all-time series.
- The two sides met last winter; they split a two-match series, with the Tigers winning the first match 3-0 while the Gamecocks winning the second match with a 3-1 margin of victory.
- Mizzou has experienced luck in Hearnes with a 6-0 mark on the home series.
LAST TIME OUT
- Junior Anna Dixon led the Tigers again, producing 14 kills to reach double-digits for the ninth straight match. Graduate Brynn Carlson added another eight kills while freshman Kayla Burbage chipped in another six terminations.
- Burbage’s five blocks marked the third time this season the rookie has produced five or more rejections. She is averaging 1.04 blocks per set on the season.
- The Tigers had nine aces as a team matching their season-high. Freshman middle blocker Trista Strasser produced a career-high four of those aces in the match.
- Defensively, sophomore libero Emily Brown reached double-digit digs for a fourth-straight match with 12 against the Wildcats.
