COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri softball’s Kimberly Wert was named an 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-American Tuesday, by College Sports Information Directors of America.
Wert becomes the 15th Tiger to receive CoSIDA Academic All-American honors and the first since 2019. The program’s all-time home run leader is the second Tiger to earn a spot on the Academic All-American team during Larissa Anderson‘s tenure, joining Kara Decker.
The fifth-year senior graduated in May with a double major of Psychology and Health Sciences while holding a 3.64 GPA. She has earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll each year that she has been at Mizzou.
During her final season in Columbia, Wert earned All-SEC First Team honors after crushing 17 home runs and driving in a career high 52 runs. She was named SEC Player of the Week on two occasions. Wert was recognized as a Third Team All-American by Softball America following her stellar play in her senior season.
