WEST PLAINS, Mo. — The West Plains Zizzer wrestling teams kicked off their season on Tuesday night against Springfield Catholic and Reeds Spring.
The Lady Zizzers started with two pins and a team win. Jade Martin and Brynn Watson secured a win against Reed Springs by each getting pin, ending the team score with 12-0.
The boys’ team competed strongly against Springfield Catholic with three pins by Jake Newberry, Jedidiah Collins, and Ridge Smith. The team scored 66, and Springfield Catholic scored 10.
“Last night’s competition was a great learning experience for our team moving forward into the rest of season,” said Coach Dan Taylor. “We had a lot of great moments, but we were also able to see what we can work on for the future.”
The teams will face Camdenton and Sedalia at Camdenton on Thursday.
