The West Plains Zizzers took on the Marshfield Bluejays in Marshfield tonight, Saturday, October 19, 2024.
With in two minutes of the game the Zizzers take the lead with a 7 to nothing score, hoping to stay in the lead for the win. Not more than 3 minutes later, the Bluejays even out the score after making a long pass with a score of 7 to 7. The Zizzers see a chance and make a 41 yard run to a touchdown, once again taking the lead. At last minute, the Bluejays take the lead after a touchdown and a good kick, ending the quarter with a score of 14 to13.
To make up for the Bluejays score, the Zizzers make a touchdown within the 1st minute of second quarter, bringing them back into the lead at 20 to 14. After a long second quarter, with just 34 seconds left to go, the Zizzers make another touchdown making their lead bigger at 27 to 14 and ending the quarter.
The second half of the game starts with the Zizzers taking the ball. After some struggle the first touchdown of the second half goes to the Zizzers bring them up to a 20 point lead. The score rests at 34 to 14 with 8 minutes left of the 3rd quarter. Not more than 2 minutes later, the Bluejays make a 44-yard pass, bringing them back into the ball game with a score of 21. The Zizzers make another touchdown with 4 minutes left of 3rd bringing the score to 40 to 21.
The end of the 43rd quarter left the Zizzers at the 3rd yard line. When they came back, the 4th quarter started with a kicking score, giving the Zizzers more points and bringing the score to 43-21. With 4 minutes left, the Zizzers make yet another touchdown, bringing the score to 50 to 21. No more touchdowns are made leaving the Zizzers with the win.
The Zizzers will play again next week on Friday at home against Carl Junction High School. The game will be aired on 102.5 KKDY and live streamed on our Facebook page and YouTube page.
