West Plains Zizzers faced the Undefeated Warrenton Warriors this Saturday November 23rd, 2024 from MacDonald’s field at Zizzer Stadium. The Warriors proved the worth of their 11-0 record as they defeat the Zizzers by a Score of 28-24

1st Quarter: Zizzers cannot contain the onside kick and Warrenton has the Football. First offensive setup will be 1st & 3rd at about the 40. Alex Judd is able to make the stop and prevent The Warriors from going further on downs. And lo and behold a quarterback sack by Fernando Lopez for the Zizzers and a loss of seventeen for the Zizzers. And a high snap and delay of game on the Warriors. Five more yards back. Zizzers pick up the ball at the 36 yard line of the Zizzers. Warriors will play a three man front on the 1st down for the Zizzers. Remmy Wilson in the backfield for the Zizzers gets all the way down to the 15-yard line. And on the swing pass, Touchdown Jackson Taylor. But a holding call and it will be a 2nd and 16 as the Touchdown is called back. Taylor gets down to the seven and Zizzers will go for it on 4th & 3. Larsen gets in for the field goal and a good kick, Zizzers draw first blood on the Warriors 3-0, 2:44 to go. Warrenton now sets up for good field position. And a hard punt by Johnson for the Warriors, stopped by Alex Judd for The Zizzers.

2nd Quarter: 3rd down and two for the Zizzers. And a wide punt as Warrenton gets on the board and puts in a field goal. Josiah Young comes in for Ethan Miller who hurts him arm on a tackle. And the Warriors Quarterback, Johnson is left wide open and makes it into the into the In-Zone for the Touchdown. Warriors take a 6-3 lead with about 8:54 to go in the Half. And an onside kick goes out of bounds at is saved, just shy of losing their offensive position. 1st down & 10 for the Zizzers who are looking to drive, and wide open caught by Jacob Moore. Hit and dropped at the 11-yard line of Warrenton. 55-yard pass play. Jackson Taylor goes into the In-Zone, but a penalty call for Warrenton as Isaiah Jones goes limping. 10-6 is the Zizzer lead. Onside kick by Larson and picked up by the Warriors as we come back in. They will take over 1st & 10. And kick is up and nearly caught by Warrenton but taken back by #13 Moore & Jackson Taylor, 36 yard gain on the play. Ball is caught at the five of Warrenton, And the ball is taken into the house off the Five and gets in, Warriors take a 14-10 lead with under 4:15 to go. A 39 yard punt with no return for the Zizzers as we come back in. At 4th down and 2, Zizzers are  trying to draw Warrenton offside. Warrenton to West Plains’ advantage is getting about as many holding calls as Haas for the Warriors has yet to take off on a run. With 51 seconds to go, the Zizzers intercept the ball! Joshua Long makes the interception. Isaiah Jones busts four tackles and runs five yards (from the 45 down to the 49) After the Zizzers get backed up five yards from illegal procedure, Long drops the ball. Almost intercepted. On 2nd & 10, Zizzers look to pick up five more yards. 17 seconds to go. Jacob Moore catches it and a late hit as a Warrenton offender headbuts him. And they do. A fumble as West Plains has it with one second to go. Jackson Taylor makes the last play but loses it out of bounds within spitting distance of the In-Zone.

AT THE HALF- Warrenton Warriors: 14/ West Plains Zizzers: 10

3rd Quarter: Zizzers will kick the ball away to begin the 2nd half. Jacob Moore makes the first tackle. Ball is at the West Plains 43 yard line. Wide open catch inside the 25 yard line in the pass play and a tackle by Jackson Taylor. Warrenton makes it in for the Touchdown as Zizzers still can’t let them pick up a third down slide. Score is now 21-10 as Warrenton goes for two. Remmy Wilson gets a good pass play to Taylor and picks up about five yards. With about 8:30 to go, Remmy Wilson gets down to the 27 yard line and picks up another large gain. 2nd down and nine for the Zizzers. Jackson Taylor gets it all the way down to the two and picks up 2nd & inches. And touchdown Jackson Taylor after going airborne on First and Ten. Zizzers now trail by four, 21-16. Flags down on Warrenton’s first play. Taylor throws the ball underneath and out of bounds and Warriors will likely end up punting the ball as the call is 4th and 12. They do run it but incomplete, Josiah Long gets it and the ball gets back to Zizzers. Pass interference call and another 15 yards back as more than likely an unsportsmanlike call for the Zizzers. To the advantage, these flags were both post posession. Personal foul on Warrenton as they appear to copy the same chain of events that moments ago transpired on the Zizzers. 2nd down and six for the Zizzers, Jackson Taylor is hit on the play as he takes a large contact and Remmy Wilson comes back in. Play is just short of a first down by Remmy Wilson. Taylor comes back in, goes open and takes a first down. Wilson gets the ball down to the two. And Touchdown Zizzers!, Isaiah Jones sacks the Quarterback. Zizzers take back the lead 24-21. Ball almost fumbled as Warrenton takes it back on offense. As clock makes it down to 43 seconds, Warrenton attempts a play but hardly a gain. End of Three- Zizzers: 24/ Warriors: 21

4th  Quarter: Warrenton looks for a field goal. Haas tries it first and loses it. But then it is ran in on the second try, Warriors go up 28-24. Ball gets back inside Warrior territory at 8:27 to go after a rough pass interference call. Remmy Wilson is tackled as he gets just past the line of scrimmage. Mark is back within reach of 4th & short and hit and driven back by Remmy Wilson, Zizzers will get a 1st & down at the 30. It’s incomplete. Zizzers will play 4th & 5, the biggest play in the game but it’s incomplete. Warrenton will take the 1st & 10. Warrenton offender is brought down at the 42 yard line. And at this point, Warrenton is favored to win the game. Inside a minute and forty seconds, Zizzers have taken their final time out and the only big play they can make is to make more yardage. Warrenton can only take two snaps and the ballgame is over, which they do

FINAL SCORE- Warrenton Warriors: 28/ West Plains Zizzers: 24

* Warrenton will move on in Post season play with now a 12-0 record & West Plains Zizzers will end the 2024 Football season with a 8-4 record.
