West Plains, MO. – The West Plains Zizzers took on the Glendale Falcons at Glendale High School on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. The West Plains freshmen won their game before the varsity teams took the court and West Plains was hoping for a victory.
The first quarter stayed close between both teams but, the Falcons were able to gain a lead on the Zizzers and would only expand on that lead through the first half. The first quarter ended with a three-point difference, Zizzers 12 – Falcons 15. Glendale was able to grow their lead to 10 points in the second quarter, ending the half with West Plains trailing, 22-32.
The West Plains Zizzers offensive skills were able to keep pace with the Glendale Falcons but, the Zizzer defense was unable to put a halt to the Falcons offense, ending the third quarter behind 32 to 44. West Plains worked hard in the fourth quarter to close the gap and came within two points of tying Glendale. The Zizzers were unable to stop the Falcons from soaring to an eight-point victory.
The West Plains Zizzers lose to the Glendale Falcons, 45 to 53. The Zizzers next play on Friday, January 6, 2023 against Springfield Central Bulldogs at West Plains.
