The St. Louis Cardinals dropped the series against the Chicago White Sox with a 5-1 loss at Busch Stadium. The game was tied entering the seventh when Giovanny Gallegos surrendered a go-ahead three-run home run to Eloy Jimenez. Willson Contreras homered in the losing effort, while Gallegos was tagged with the loss out of the pen. St. Louis is in last place in the NL Central at 15-and-19. The Cardinals send Kyle Gibson to the mound against the Mets tonight.
