COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball (13-5, 2-3 SEC) fell at home for the first time on the year to No. 13 Georgia (14-3, 3-2 SEC) by a score of 72-62. Aijha Blackwell earned her 13th career double-double while leading all scorers with 27 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
The Tigers trailed from start to finish as Georgia opened the game on a 16-5 run. Mizzou would cut the Bulldogs’ lead to just one point after Hayley Frank knocked down three-pointers on three-consecutive possessions. However, a quick 7-0 run from Georgia with fewer than three minutes to go sunk the Tigers.
NOTES
Aijha Blackwell picked up her 13th double double of the season. Blackwell currently leads the nation in double doubles and rebounds.
Blackwell scored over 20 points for the seventh time this season.
Hayley Frank put up a double-digit scoring effort for the ninth game in a row.
Lauren Hansen scored in double digits for the sixth-straight game.
Georgia extends the all-time series lead 10-6 over Mizzou.
Mizzou falls at home for the first time on the year.
Of the Tigers’ 62 points, 55 came from three players – Aijha Blackwell (27), Haley Frank (18) and Lauren Hansen (10). Mizzou has had at least three players score in double figures for the seventh straight game, and the 14th time this season.
