Columbia, Mo. – The University of Missouri Women’s basketball team is scheduled to face the University of Nebraska-Omaha in a non-conference matchup at 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 9th at Mizzou Arena. The broadcast will air live on SECN+ and KTGR.
Missouri enters the game 9-1 on the season following a road victory on Saturday versus Arizona State. Seniors Lauren Hansen and Hayley Frank combined for a total of 46 points to help lift the Tigers to the win.
Hansen’s impact was shown through her shooting performance as she made 10-of-15 shots from the field, making it the most efficient scoring effort this season at 66.7%. She has now recorded 23+ points in three straight games becoming the first Tiger to do so since Sophie Cunningham in 2016-17.
Frank also played her role as the senior connected on 9-of-17 shots including three 3-pointers and recorded a team best +/- of 17.
Graduate guard Sara-Rose Smith further helped to uplift the Tigers in their victory with her performance off the bench recording her third double-double of the season playing 34 minutes. Smith is one of two players in the nation with 3+ double-doubles off the bench this year.
Saturday is the first matchup between these two teams since Missouri earned a 90-71 victory in 1979. Mizzou is looking to extend its three-game win streak with a victory over the Mavericks.
Omaha enters the contest at 4-4 after coming up short in overtime against California-Bakersfield last Sunday.
The Mavericks are led by graduate forward Elena Pilakouta who is averaging 14.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
