COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball (9-2) returns to action after one week off. The Tigers will face the Southern Jaguars (2-8) on Monday night at 7 p.m. in Mizzou Arena. The game will air on SEC Network +. Nate Gatter and Jordan Roundtree will be on the call. The radio broadcast will be available on KTGR with Kathy Wiesen and Brad Tregnago.
Mizzou another SWAC member in Alabama A&M in its previous contest. Aijha Blackwell scored 20 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in the 69-55 win. She is the first Tiger to score at least 20 points and grab 20 rebounds since Kesha Bonds in 1997. Hayley Frank added 17 points and six rebounds on 7-of-11 shooting. Blackwell is among the nation’s leaders in double doubles, rebounds, and defensive rebounds.
Mizzou ranks second in the SEC in both three pointers per contest (8.36) and three-point field goal percentage (.371). The Tigers are shooting over 37 percent from beyond the arc. Hayley Frank and Lauren Hansen combine for 45 of Mizzou’s 92 three pointers on the year. Frank is shooting 42.4 percent (25-for-59) from three.
The Tigers are looking to close out non-conference play strong. Mizzou hits the road to face rival Illinois on Wednesday at noon CT for the final non-conference contest of the season.
