COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Women’s Basketball concludes the 2023 year at 7 p.m. Thursday against Kansas City in Mizzou Arena. The contest will be broadcast on SECN+.
The Tigers enter the game following a Braggin’ Rights victory over Illinois on Sunday.
Mama Demble led Missouri with a career-high 20 points and four assists against the Fighting Illini.
During the contest, Dembele moved into sixth on the program’s all-time assist leaderboard. The Tigers’ point guard currently ranks second in the SEC with 81 assists (6th nationally) and second in the conference with 37 steals (3rd nationally).
Senior forward Hayley Frank contributed 13 points on Sunday. The veteran currently ranks sixth on the program’s all-time scoring leaderboard. Frank stands 41 points shy of Sharon Farrah (1975-79) for fifth.
Graduate forward Abby Feit notched nine points in the win. Feit has scored 9+ points in each of the last four games.
With a victory over the Roos, Missouri would earn its 200th win in Mizzou Arena.
Mizzou has been prolific beyond the arc this season, the Tigers rank second in the SEC (29th nationally) in 3-point percentage (37.2%) and 23rd in the country (2nd in SEC) with 8.9 makes per contest.
Kansas City enters Thursday at 7-5 following a 121-37 route of Kansas Christian on Monday.
The Roos are led by Dionnah Jackson-Durrett who is 16-28 in two seasons on the sidelines.
Kansas City’s roster is headlined by Nariyah Simmons who averages 11.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Simmons played last season at Johnson County Community College where she was named a National Junior College Athletic Association D-II first-team All-American.
Mizzou is 13-2 all-time against the in-state opponent including a 9-1 mark at home.
