Women’s Basketball to Host Mississippi State in We Back Pat Matchup

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball will face Mississippi State at 7 p.m. Monday at Mizzou Arena. The contest will air nationally on SEC Network.

Missouri (11-10, 0-6 SEC) is coming off a loss to Auburn on Sunday.

Sophomore guard Grace Slaughter led Missouri in scoring for the tenth time this season with 14 points and four rebounds against Auburn.

Slaughter is ranked sixth in the Southeastern Conference in free throw percentage at 83.8% and twentieth in scoring with an average of 14.0 points per game.

In addition, the sophomore is sixth in the country in 3-point percentage (47.2) among athletes who average 1.5 or more makes per game this season.

Junior guard Ashton Judd put up 13 points and six boards to contribute to Mizzou’s effort.

This season, she is averaging 11.5 points, including 10.5 in SEC play, along with 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.

Sophomore guard Abbey Schreacke is second in the SEC and is tied for 27th nationally with 49 3-pointers this season.

Schreacke also ranks seventh in the SEC in 3-point percentage (39.2).

As a team, the Tigers lead the SEC and are ninth nationally in 3-point percentage at 38.2 percent.

Redshirt sophomore Averi Kroenke ranks fourth in the SEC and 21st in the country with a 2.64 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Sunday will mark the 17th overall meeting between the programs, with Mississippi State leading the all-time series 11-5.

The Bulldogs are coached by Sam Purcell who is in his third year with the program and has amassed a 61-28 record.

Mississippi State enters the game with a 15-5 overall record, including a 2-4 mark in SEC play, following a win over Auburn on Thursday.

The Bulldogs’ roster is headlined by senior guard Eniya Russell, who leads the team with an average of 15.2 points per game, and junior forward Kayla Thomas, who contributes 7.5 rebounds per game.

In collaboration with National Girls and Women’s in Sports Day Missouri will be hosting a free panel and clinic for all members of the public from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Hearnes Center.

The panel will feature Tigers’ athletes Jessica Larson (soccer), Addie Lawerence (gymnastics), Taylor Williams (swim and dive), Andrea Artimedi (tennis) and Maya Sands (volleyball).

In addition, during the contest, Missouri will honor legendary coach Pat Summitt as a part of WeBackPat week.
