Women’s Basketball Travels to Face SEC Rival Arkansas

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball will travel to face Arkansas at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will stream live on SECN+.

Missouri (13-16, 2-12 SEC) is coming off a loss at Ole Miss on Sunday.

Four Tigers scored in double figures against the Rebels. Sophomore guard Grace Slaughter led the effort with 18 points on 54.5 percent from the field and a perfect four-for-four performance at the charity stripe.

Senior guard Laniah Randle added 11 points in the contest. Slaughter (47.4%) and Randle (46.4%) are ranked seventh and ninth in field goal percentage during conference play, respectively.

Slaughter also leads the Tigers with 15.6 points per game this season, including 16.4 points per game in conference play; the sophomore has totaled double-figure scoring in 11 straight contests.

Slaughter also ranks fourth in the conference in free throw percentage at 86.0.

An efficient scorer, Slaughter ranks eighth in the conference in field goal percentage at 50.2 percent and is fifth in the country in 3-point percentage (46.9) among athletes who average 1.5+ makes per game this season.

Ashton Judd chipped in 17 points on Sunday, the junior guard is averaging 12.9 points per game in SEC play.

Sophomore guard Abbey Schreacke is sixth in the SEC with 61 3-point makes this season, the sophomore also ranks seventh in the conference in 3-point percentage at 38.4.

Redshirt sophomore Averi Kroenke ranks fifth in the SEC and 26th in the country with a 2.41 assist-to-turnover ratio.

As a team, the Tigers are second in the SEC and ninth nationally in 3-point percentage at 37.32 percent.

Arkansas enters the contest at 9-20 on the year with a 2-12 mark in SEC play following a loss to Oklahoma on Sunday in Fayetteville.

The Razorbacks are coached by Mike Neighbors who is in his eighth season at the helm, he owns a 147-112 record at Arkansas.

The Arkansas roster is highlighted by Izzy Higginbottom who averages 23.6 points per game, an SEC best.

The showdown will mark the 36th meeting in the all-time series with Arkansas leading 23-12. The Razorbacks own an 11-4 home record in the series.
