The Royals saw their season come to an end at their home ballpark. Kansas City lost to the New York Yankees 3-1 in Game Four of the AL Division Series at Kauffman Stadium. Vinnie Pasquantino drove in the team’s lone run on an RBI double in the sixth inning. Starting pitcher Michael Wacha was charged with the loss after he allowed two runs through four-and-two-thirds innings. The Royals were making their third playoff appearance in the last 39 years. They have not made it past the ALDS since winning the World Series in 2015.
