The West Plains Zizzers took on the Monett Cubs in their first post-season game of the 2023-2024 season.
From early in the first quarter, it was apparent that this game would likely be one-sided. The Zizzers scored three touchdowns during the first quarter and made one two-point conversion. Two of the touchdowns were made by #3 Remington “Remmy” Wilson and the second touchdown of the game was a 63-yard punt return by Rylan Kenslow.
The second quarter went great for West Plains with the first score of the quarter with a touchdown by #10 Briggs Hughston in the first nine seconds. Two more touchdowns were made by the Zizzers, one by #13 Jacob Moore and the other by Isiah Jones. West Plains ended the first half ahead 43-0.
The third quarter was marked by a 10-minute injury timeout as Zizzer #24 Jackson Taylor was taken from the field on a stretcher. At the time of writing, the extent of Taylor’s injuries is unknown. The Zizzers would make the last touchdown of the game shortly after resuming play. No scores were made during the fourth quarter.
