West Plains, MO. – The West Plains Zizzer Boys basketball team ended their 2022-2023 run with a loss of their first post-season game against the Parkview Vikings on March 1, 2023.
The game started poorly for the Zizzers as they would trail the Vikings at the end of the first quarter by 4 points. At no point in the game did Parkview runaway with the score but, the Vikings would continually add to their lead over West Plains throughout the game. The second quarter saw the Zizzers fall further behind with a halftime score of 20 to 27, Parkview leading.
The West Plains Zizzers would manage to close the point gap some during the third quarter, coming within 3 points of tying up the Vikings. In the final quarter of the game, the Zizzers would see this gap widen faster, with a final point deficit of 13.
Top scorers of the game for the West Plains Zizzers were Briggs Houston and Aiden Simpson with 13 points each. Parkview’s Kevin Parker led the Vikings in with 20 points.
The West Plains Zizzers lose to the Parkview Vikings, 45 to 58. Their record for the season was 9 wins and 17 losses.
