West Plains, MO. – The West Plains Zizzers won their opening game of the football season against the Bolivar Liberators, 16-7.
The game began with both teams showing a slow offense in the first quarter and only beginning to pick up in the second. The first two quarters each ended tied. The first quarter was tied at zero and the half ended tied at 7, both teams making a touchdown and extra point.
The second half saw the Zizzers take a lead offensively, making many runs and passes that averaged seven yards each play. This gave West Plains a touchdown and the lead of 14 to 7. The last two points of the game came from a safety scored by the Zizzers. While West Plains won the game with more points, they also ended the game with the most penalties.
The West Plains Zizzers next play in Springfield against the Glendale Falcons.
