The West Plains Zizzers took on the Branson Pirates tonight, September 20, 2024 in Branson.
The first quarter starts off with the Zizzers getting the ball and making a good first play. The Zizzers and the Pirates both play a good first quarter of the game, each fighting for the first touchdown. The Branson Pirates score two touchdowns in a row, getting a slight lead on the Zizzers for the quarter. The first quarter ends with the Pirates in a 10 to nothing lead.
The Zizzers get their first touchdown at the start of the second quarter, slightly closing the gap, brining the game to 10 to 7. The Pirates get one more touchdown before the Zizzers take a return of a 75 yard fumble and bring the score within 3 points of the winning score. The score sits at 17 to 14. The Branson Pirates makes one last touchdown with only 9 seconds left of the game, ending the first half with the Pirates winning 24 to 14.
The Zizzers make the biggest game of the season at the beginning of the second quarter bringing the game back in their favor, making a touchdown with a run of 37 yards. The score was brought back to a three point game of 24 to 21. The third quarter ends without any more touchdowns being scored.
The Branson Pirates start of the last quarter with a touchdown and bring their score back up to 32 to 21 with the Zizzers down by 11. Less than 15 seconds later the Pirates get another touchdown after a 50 yard run. This is followed up by yet another touchdown by the Pirates and they leave the Zizzers behind in the dust after the game takes a dramatic turn in the last quarter. The Zizzers loose to the Pirates with a score of 46 to 21.
The West Plains Zizzers will play their homecoming game next week on Friday, September 27, 2024, against Logan-Rogersville High School. That game will be aired on KDY 102.5 and livestreamed on Ozark Radio News youtube and facebook pages.
