The West Plains Zizzers took on the Camdenton Lakers in the loser’s bracket of the Bolivar tournament on Friday, January 27th.
The Zizzers did well in the first quarter of the game, keeping a tight score with the Lakers but begun to trail in the second. At halftime, the score was Lakers 27 to the Zizzers 15. The second half of the game became a real nail-biter as the Zizzers manage to catch up to the Lakers and tie the game in the final quarter at 50.
The overtime portions of the game were exciting. Yes, “portions”. Plural. The Zizzers took the Lakers through three overtime periods, tying at 57 in the first and 64 in the second overtime. In the final minute of the third overtime, free throws won the game for the Lakers with a score of 73 to 78.
The West Plains Zizzers next play at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Bolivar Tournament.
